About The Coach
Derek got involved with triathlons early 1995. Since then, he has completed two Half Iron distance triathlon, various Olympic and Sprint distance triathlons. He has competed in four half marathons. In 1999 received his Spinning Instructor certification. In 2002, was the Team in Training Triathlon coach for the Hyannis Sprint on the Cape, the West Kennebunkport Fire Department Sprint in Kennebunkport, Maine and the Granite Ledges Sprint Triathlons in New Hampshire.
He received his coaching certification from USA Hockey, USA Soccer, USA Triathlon and the International Triathlon Coaches Association. In addition he has been a NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer for more than 20 years, working with various athletes with various abilities. He has broaden his Athletic Training Certification with the addition of a Speed, Agility and Quickness and Sport Yoga Certification becoming a Master in Health and Wellness Coaching.
